· Morning (9:00 - 14:00):Dive into theForbidden City. Your guide will explain everything—from the special “golden brick” floors to why it’s built on a perfect central axis (think how it compares to Versailles!). We’ll get special access to the Treasure Gallery.
· Lunch:At theCorner Tower Restaurantinside the palace walls. We’ve arranged a private Beijing Duck meal with gluten-free noodles. Everything is served separately, just like home.
· Afternoon (15:00 - 18:30):Explore theTemple of Heaven. Learn about the “round sky, square earth” design of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and how the Echo Wall really works. Stay for the beautiful sunset over the temple.
· Evening (19:00 - 21:00):Take a relaxing stroll through the ancientQianmen Hutongsand try your hand at making a traditional “Rabbit Lord” figurine.
· Dinner:Time for a taste of home! We’ll dine atLyon, the official French embassy restaurant. It’s the real deal—think coq au vin, duck confit, and great Burgundy wine. Perfect for your first night.
· Day 2: The Great Wall & An Emperor’s Tomb

· Your Day & Meals:
· Morning (8:00 - 13:00):Off to theMutianyu Great Wall! We’ll take the cable car up to save your energy for the best parts. Your guide will explain the brilliant defense system (you can compare it to European castle walls). You’ll have about 2 hours to walk, take stunning photos, and just take it all in.
· Lunch:At theCommune by the Great Wallrestaurant. We’ll have a warm, hearty stew (great after the hike) alongside some excellent German-style sausages.
· Afternoon (14:00 - 17:30):Visit theDingling Tombat the Ming Tombs. We’ll go down into the underground palace and explore the ancient idea of treating the afterlife like the present life. It’s fascinating to compare with European royal burial traditions.
· Evening (19:00 - 21:00):Back in the city, we’ll see Beijing’s modern side with a drive through the glitteringCBD.
· Dinner:Let’s go German!Schindler’s Tankstelleis a beloved embassy restaurant. Their roasted pork knuckle with sauerkraut and sausage platters are legendary. A perfect, hearty meal with a authentic German beer.
· Day 3: Imperial Gardens & Artistic Vibes
· See:Summer Palace & Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan)

· Morning (9:00 - 13:00):Discover the beauty of theSummer Palace. We’ll take a boat on Kunming Lake, decode the painted stories on the Long Corridor, and see how this “landscaped” garden is so different from the formal gardens of Europe.
· Lunch:At the famousTingliguan Restaurantinside the Summer Palace. We’ll try a tailored menu of “Imperial” dishes like sweet pea cakes, all served in an elegant way with full explanations.
· Afternoon (14:00 - 17:30):Visit theOld Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan). It’s a moving experience. We’ll focus on the European-style ruins, talking about the history of this “Garden of Gardens” and what its loss meant.
· Evening (18:00 - 21:00):A complete change of pace at798 Art District. We’ll explore contemporary art galleries in this cool factory-turned-arts-center.
· Dinner:Bella Italia!Peter Panis run by Italians and is famous among expats. Think fresh seafood pasta, classic pizza, and the best tiramisu in the city for dessert.
· Day 4: From Modern Olympics to Ancient Mansions
· See:Olympic Park & Prince Gong’s Mansion

· Morning (9:00 - 12:00):See Beijing’s modern architectural wonders at theOlympic Park. We’ll get up close to the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube and talk about the engineering behind them.
· Lunch:At theLinglong Pagoda Restaurantin the park. A fun fusion menu—perhaps Beijing dumplings followed by an Italian soup. Plenty of veggie choices.
· Afternoon (13:00 - 17:00):Step into the luxurious world of a Qing Dynasty prince atPrince Gong’s Mansion. Find the hidden “Blessing” tablet and learn how China’s nobility lived (very different from a European duke!). Then, take a classicrickshaw ridethrough the hutongs around Shichahai Lake.
· Evening (18:00 - 20:00):Your final exploration is the livelyNanluoguxiang Alley. We can even arrange a short Peking Opera experience if you’re curious!
· Farewell Dinner:We’ll end with a bang atDaDong Roast Duck(Nanluoguxiang). This is creative, gourmet Beijing duck—some even comes with blueberry sauce! It’s served Western-style, so it’s a delicious and familiar way to say goodbye to Beijing.
